2012 Priorities for the Chase Lake National Wildlife Refuge are as follows; -Monitoring and population estimates of American White Pelicans -The development, assessment, and evaluation of a protocol to monitor herons, egrets, and gulls at Chase Lake National Wildlife Refuge -The evaluation of powerline strikes and mortalities of pelicans and other waterbirds near the south perimeter of Chase Lake National Wildlife Refuge -The enhancement of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s capability to detect disease events and monitor colonial waterbirds and Chase Lake National Wildlife Refuge.
