The present study is carried out in the Himalayan region of Namdapha National Park, Arunachal Pradesh based on photographic collection of spiders during January- February 2014. It is the first approach in this region to study the spider fauna as there is no checklist and other data available from this region thus it providing base line information for further studies. A total of 47 species belonging to 35 genera and 16 families are reported with Araneidae, Salticidae and Nephilidae being the dominant families among all the reported families. Such surveys are vital for conservation of these creatures and building a biodiversity database of this mega diverse group from a fragmented Tropical wet-evergreen forest ecosystem in Arunachal Pradesh, India.

Purpose:It is the first approach in this region to study the spider fauna as there is no checklist and other data available from this region thus its providing base line information for further studies.
