Malaysian tigers, which were said to have lived 500 just a few years ago, were found to have only half of them, 250. In Malaysia, tiger meat dishes are still being served illegally in restaurants and sold illegally in night markets, even though they are illegal. Therefore, MYCAT, supported by JTEF, collects illegal trade information from the general public and sends it to enforcement agencies in order to eliminate fur, tiger bone-containing herbal medicines, and products of tiger body parts.
