The project will aid in our understanding of three sympatric owlets namely the Forest Owlet, Spotted Owlet and Jungle Owlet that are ecologically similar and will provide insight into micro and macro variables that influence their distribution across an area based on species-species and species-habitat interactions.

Apart from the research aspect this project also aims to create public awareness of the importance of owls and sensitize populace of the threats they face, not only, on an academic level but also among the local communities and stakeholders which would help build and strengthen existing conservation and management strategies for effective protection of the species.
